Just Gotta Have It
Sometimes, I think, we get so caught up in everyday life and what needs to be done, what must be accomplished, that we tend to miss out on the simplest pleasures that life has to offer. When was the last time you stole some time, just for yourself or with a good friend, to wander, to window shop, to wish for the one unessential thing that can bring a smile to your face or add unadulterated joy while you go about your day, tending to the essential tasks that fill our days? Don’t you just adore going into that special little shop in your town where even the most affordable of products is so artfully and cleverly displayed that it is transformed into its own little treasure? There’s no better way to rejuvenate and escape from a weary world than to stroll among things of beauty, things not required for basic survival, and marvel, desire, and dream. Every once-in-a-while, each of us needs to indulge the senses and, yes, even splurge on something that has no other function than to fill your world with pure happiness. Every now and again, when real life is just a bit overwhelming, steal away and take one of those Just Gotta Have It days to enjoy more of what makes life worth living, time alone or with a kindred spirit, and savor all the treasures life has in store!
